A vibrant and finely detailed Chinese export porcelain tea service comprising one handled teacup and three matching saucers, decorated in a striking famille-rose palette with a rare turquoise ground.
Each piece is intricately enameled with scrolling lotus arabesques, auspicious florals, and roundels enclosing iron-red longevity characters and symbolic emblems. The borders are finished with a key-fret (leiwen) band in alternating famille-rose enamels and gilt, a design traditionally associated with prosperity and continuity.
The unusually saturated turquoise ground and joyful colorway make this set especially decorative—equally compelling for use, display in a vitrine, or styled within a maximalist tabletop.
These types of pieces were produced for the export market and reflect the Western taste for richly colored and highly ornamented porcelain during the late Qing period, late 19th century / Early 20th century
