Unreleased Clair Seglem of a Woman in Green in Blue Skirt
Unreleased Clair Seglem of a Woman in Green in Blue Skirt
Sourced from the estate of the late Oklahoma artist Clair Seglam. An airforce man for most of his life, Seglem only began painting after his retirement. Most known for his vibrant portraits and nudes, he completed a vast portfolio of work before he died in 2020.
This piece is part of a collection that was found in one of his old sketchbooks. It was hidden away in our warehouse when we happened upon it during inventory one day. To our surprise, the notebook held a jewel box of unseen work.
This piece is on a half sheet and combined with another painting. This piece appears to be a first or second draft of the other. It features a woman with dark black hair who wears a blue knee-length skirt and a red sleeveless top. She is barefoot and on a warm brown background. Upon purchase, this piece will be carefully cut from the companion piece, unless the buyer purchases the two together.
